“DotCom Secrets” by Russell Brunson
Let’s start with “DotCom Secrets” by Russell Brunson.
This is a FREE book! All you have to do is pay minimal shipping and they will send it to you.
This is the place to start, to increase your understanding of what this whole “online thing” is all
about. It’s not about getting traffic (there’s another book on THAT!) or increasing conversions.
This is basically a SHORTCUT, a playbook, to what actually works for an online business.
I require all my mentoring clients to read this book, in partnership with the next book on this
list, “Expert Secrets.” And I highly recommend YOU read both of these books too!
Why? Because this is the fastest way for you to understand the power at your fingertips with
online marketing, and how life-changing it can be when you step into the incredible digital
world! Check it out!

“Expert Secrets” by Russell Brunson
This is a FREE book! All you have to do is pay the minimal shipping and they will send it to you. If you’re trying to figure out if it really is possible to make money from something you already know, you need this!
This is such a deal, 265 pages chock full of “from the trenches” tried, tested, and proven strategies for getting yourself and your product out there.
Even if you’re not sure you want the book, at least go to the website and watch the video case studies there. They are incredibly inspiring! There’s even a guy who made six figures from selling hotdogs—for real. Check it out!
Name Silo
I recommend Name Silo because it is very economical.
Domains start as low as $1.89 a year, AND it’s very secure. You can search for the domain you have in mind in their convenient search bar at the top of the page, to make sure it’s available.
SiteGround Web Hosting
SiteGround is super affordable starting at $3.95 a month. They are now considered by many to be much more reliable than other hosts such as BlueHost.
It’s very easy to setup a WordPress website through SiteGround, and they have impressive customer support.
And with their 30-Day Money Back Guarantee, you don’t have to worry about giving them a try.
ConvertKit
I highly recommend ConvertKit, built by bloggers FOR bloggers. They totally understand what you need with your email campaigns, and WHY you need. It.
Even if you are just getting started, you need to make attracting and building a subscriber base of your ideal prospects a priority, right from the very first day.
Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing
The fastest, easiest, FIRST way you can start making money from your blog, is through affiliate marketing. (Eventually this will be supported by your email list too!)
Very simply, affiliate marketing is when you sell something through a special link you receive for the product you want to promote, and receive a small commission when someone buys through your link.
In fact, that is exactly what I’m doing on this resource page right now!
The course is easy to follow, and gives real, actionable guidance and instruction on the very best ways to start implementing affiliate marketing on your blog.
Blog By Number
Suzi Whitford has created a straight-forward, easy to follow program, taking you through the steps for successfully creating your first WordPress blog. I started with this program, and have assigned it as a guide book when coaching beginners. They love it!
Suzi also includes helpful training for creating eye-popping graphics yourself (and why you need them), as well as an introduction to Pinterest. Please note, Suzie DOES still use BlueHost, but I recommend you use SiteGround instead. It’s just a much more solid platform to build your new blog on.
The 30 Day Website Building Challenge
Jessica Larew and her family started their online journey by selling items on Amazon, and then moved on to teaching others how to do it as well. Recently she has been focusing on teaching others how to make money from their blogs with affiliate marketing and your own products.
So, it was a natural next progression for her to create an extremely easy to follow training to assure you can actually build your entire WordPress blog from scratch.
This program effectively covers “next steps” after Suzi’s Blog by Number training.
The difference is Jessica goes much deeper into explaining everything, as well as a more detailed approach for covering the finer points.
There’s just something about Jessica’s friendly teaching style that turns the entire training into manageable steps, and makes it a lot less intimidating.
She also uses both SiteGround AND ConvertKit, with tutorials included in the training about how to use both of these, so that makes it super easy to get started.
The Culture Code by Clotaire Rapaille
Did you know he is responsible for Jeep switching from square headlights to round ones? And WHY? Fascinating, and created a massive increase in Jeep sales.
And how about Nestle serving up coffee-flavored desserts to Japanese children? Evil shenanigans or brilliant long-range marketing? You decide.
Just a few of many little-known, powerful marketing lessons on every page of this book.
If you’re a marketer, you must get this one—it rocks!
The War of Art by Steven Pressfield
Have you ever struggled with resistance or reluctance to actually DO what you are called to do creatively? This includes writing copy, filming videos, podcasting, creating new products…you get the idea, right? Read this!
The Go Giver by Bob Burg
What can I say about this beautiful little book? If you’re serious about giving value and creating lasting relationships with your clients, read this. It’s short. A fast read. But HUGE impact.
I still have past coaching clients who received this book from me over ten years ago telling me how much it positively impacted their lives. Wonder what it could do for YOU?
Other Helpful Resources:
Keywords Everywhere
I give this incredible tool five stars!
This is super-fast and easy way to research your keywords, plus it has a snazzy new “spy on your competition’s keywords” function that is truly amazing.
You need to install it on Firefox or Chrome. It doesn’t work in Safari. And it is very easy to install. You’ll have it working in less than five minutes.
I guarantee you will get loads of inspiration and ideas about what you should be writing about, as well as phrases that can be turned into Search Engine Optimized blog titles.
No question, you should get it now!
Postmark
Postmark Spam Check is an easy to use tool for running your email message through the spam checking process. I made one up with words I was confident would get me knocked out of the game, and sure enough, it did!
NOTE: Sometimes their URL link can be a little fussy, so if you can’t get there through the link, just type Spam Check Postmark App into your search bar and you’ll get there. Then bookmark it for easy access every time.
Mail-Tester
Mail-Tester is another free resource where you can send in your email copy, and get a quick analysis about the “spammyness” of your emails.
Besides helping you assure your emails will get through the filters, you’ll undoubtedly learn quite a bit about word choices for your emails. Fiddle around with it a bit, and you’ll see what I mean!
